“From every Mountainside, Let Freedom Ring.”–Samuel F. Smith

We proudly waved the red, white and blue this year…and had a blast riding in the city’s parade for our church. Then, the rest of the day was spent together at home…grilling, swimming and being together. Thankful for our freedom today and everyday! Due to a 14 month old sleepyhead, fireworks weren’t a priority this year. When I tucked the boys in bed, Quinn mentioned that it didn’t really feel like we celebrated…and that was sad to me. About 30 minutes later, the neighborhood fireworks started up and it was LOUD. While Nash and Bliss slept through it, Quinn was reading in bed hearing every pop and bang. Because sometimes it’s fun to be spontaneous, we pulled our sweet first born out of bed and celebrated. We enjoyed some really pretty fireworks and even had a fun stash of our own leftover from last year. It was a sweet time…just us and our Quinn. Celebrating the 4th…and having one of those moments that reminds me of how big my love for him is. 522
