Our Bruiser

July 15-16 019 I could eat him up! Seriously!!! Is he not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?! Such a bruiser…and SUCH a boy! So different from his Big Brother. I’m not kidding when I say I change 6+ poopy diapers a day…plus we’ve already been tee-teed on 3 times and he’s soaked through more outfits than I can count. (even to the point where the little beads from the diaper are ALL over him!) On top of that, the burps and grunts that come from this little 2 week old are hilarious…and seem TOO big for his “tiny” little self! But, I’m in MAD love with him…burps, grunts, toots and all!

And, today, we went to the doctor for Nash’s 2 week check up! He was perfect, of course. And…drum roll please………here are his stats at 2 weeks old…

Weight: 9 lbs. 5 oz. (90th percentile)
Height: 20 1/2 inches (75th percentile)
Head: 14.3 (60th percentile)

WOW! He’s a good eater, for sure!  Dr. G put “Big Boy…Awesome weight gain…Grunting Fellow” on his report card. And, he said that the spit ups are (more than likely) from over-eating…so, I might need to cut him off! HA! Cracks me up! I have a feeling that this guy might be the one that will clear out our pantry as a teenager!

Milk does a body good…

063Nash had his first trip to the doctor at only 4 days old. They just wanted to check out his weight and jaundice levels. Thankfully, our little chunky monkey was up from 8 lbs. 1 oz. (when we left the hospital only 2 days before) to 8 lbs. 5 oz!!! WOOO HOOO! Due to my insane milk supply, this little guy is growing, growing, growing! Sadly, my story with Quinn was not the same. He wasn’t gaining quick enough and he was SUPER jaundiced. It was horrible on a new mommy to have to go to the doc so many times to get his heel pricked…and to get coached and coached again on nursing! But, this time, I looked like Dolly Parton on his second day of life…and I’m thankful…but, Lord HAVE MERCY! Let’s hope things get a little less “full” soon! At least it makes for a happy baby! 068 And, speaking of milk…the other evening, Quinn requested to hold his baby brother! So, he dragged the boppy from our room and got settled on the chair. When we placed Nash in his arms, he did good for a while, but it was time to eat…so he quickly got a little grumpy. I told Quinn that it was time for Nash’s supper, but he didn’t seem to mind holding him through the cries.

So, I asked Quinn…
”Why do you think Nash is crying?”
He said, “I think he’s hungry for his milk!”
So, I responded with, “I think you’re right. Maybe Mommy should go and feed him.”
And, Q said, “No, it’s ok, I have milk right here!” (while pulling up his shirt and pointing to his very own ‘milk’)

Thankfully, I had my camera in hand…and captured the hilariously precious moment. Obviously, we told Quinn that only Mommies made milk! :)

Here’s the event in pictures…

First, it was sweet…

BIG BOY

Well, Baby Quinn has his two month check-up today. I was dreading it because they had to give him 4 shots!!! Matt came with us so that I would have someone to console me ... since I was there to console the baby! :) After much fretting, Quinn did great. The nurse that gave him his shots was SUPER fast and his crying didn't even last very long...such a tough guy! ... We were a little surprised at his stats...but were thrilled that he's a growing boy and is obviously a good eater!!!

Pre-shots pictures...

The stats...

Weight: 11 lbs. 14 oz. (50th-75th percentile)

Height: 23.5 (75th-90th percentile)

Head: 15.8 (75th percentile)

Post-shots pictures...so sad...

Then, we had a great day at the mall with Auntie Molly! (Why did we not take a picture?!?!) It was so much fun being with her all day and just leisurely shopping. Quinn obviously loves Molly because she LOVES to hold him! We hope to see her again very soon!
