On Tuesday, Nash started Mother’s Day Out! They call it preschool…but I refuse! It sounds WAY too big! We NEVER intended for him to go this young, but when Matt suggested that I take advantage of having him at “Daddy’s work” while I get a break two times a week, I didn’t argue.
We’ve talked about it for a while and Nash seemed excited to go to “cool!” I didn’t quite know how I would feel…especially after all of the Kindergarten emotions I’ve been going through. And, when I dressed my big boy on Tuesday morning, and saw him holding his “packpack” and lunch box, my heart skipped a beat!
Thankfully, he didn’t seem worried or sad at all as we drove to school. He talked about how he was going to color and play trains and eat lunch…and, his excitement pretty much extinguished my fears.
It definitely doesn’t hurt that I ADORE his teacher. When we decided to consider sending him to school, I ONLY wanted Mrs. Amanda…and, she’s who we got! She loves those babies SO much!
After we passed out the sussies to the director and his teacher (and her sweet aid), we gave last hugs and said goodbye! God answered Quinn’s prayers this morning, because Nash didn’t shed a tear! He was a bit apprehensive, but didn’t seem sad at all! For that, I was so thankful!
After we said our last, quick goodbye, we walked out…just the two of us! Matt had taken the day off, so we had FIVE hours to spend together! Did you hear me!?!?!? FIVE HOURS!!! In the middle of the day!!! Even though I’m still a bit surprised that we actually sent our BABY to school, I am so thankful to have some ME time…it has been a while since I’ve been able to do some things for me…and, I’m so thankful that I have a husband that notices that and wants me to have it too!
So, Matt and I spent the day shopping, enjoying our first Pumpkin Spice of the year at Starbucks and looking at houses with our realtor! Then, we were able to divide and conquer at pick up time. I got Quinn and Matt got the privilege of picking up Nash from his first day! When he got there, our Nasher was SOUND asleep on his nap mat, and his teacher reassured us that he’d had a great day!!
And, of course we had to celebrate with Yogurt in the Wall for this first day of school boy, too!

We got Fro Yo for Ellie's first day of 'school' too! I was the same way about her going at such a young age, but it is SO nice to run errands without getting someone in and out of the car seat at every stop :)
