I must admit, I was emotional. I get a little too sentimental (shocker) in situations like this. We’ve done so much to get ready…shopping, counting down, shopping for and labeling school supplies, getting our outfits ready and talking about kindergarten EVERY day…
So, the day before Kindergarten, I just soaked in my big boy on the last day of our Endless Summer.
One of the things that I’ve constantly been looking forward to with having the guys in school (Nash will be starting next week) is grocery shopping BY MYSELF! Can you even imagine the bliss?…But, on the day before Kindergarten, while grocery shopping with both of my boys in tow, I got SILLY emotional. I seriously could have cried. Mercy.
Then, at our Taco Bueno lunch, I couldn’t stop staring at his big brown eyes as he was making a HUGE mess while eating. Once again, I could have cried. I think I’ve carried around a lump in my throat for days!
Then, when Nash went down for a nap, Quinn said, “Momma, let’s have a little date!!!” Melt!!! So, he planned it all…games, games, games! And, it was perfect! I even read him the book, “If I Could Keep You Little” with NO tears! I was impressed with myself! :)

Then, when Daddy got home, there was more fun to be had…a yummy dinner, lego playing, laughing at Daddy pretending to be sad about Q getting too big and baths…
After we had two boys that finished their early baths and got in clean jammies, it was time for the Night Before School tradition….crepe paper sussy balls! I, like the past two years, have been collecting little sussies and wrapped them up in a crepe paper ball!
Both boys had MORE fun opening their sussies…and couldn’t wait to play with each thing and put their new keychains on their backpacks. I’m hopefull that this will become a tradition they both look forward to.
And, after Nash quickly went to bed, Matt and I both crawled in bed with Q to pray, read and talk about the big day to come! What a special time with our boy the Night Before Kindergarten. He even asked me to cuddle and I tickled his back and watched him fall asleep! (while crying a bit, of course!) Oh how we adore this boy! We truly can’t wait to watch him grow and learn as a big Kindergartener! We just KNOW he’s going to love it!!
