Even though our baby was born at 1:32 p.m., due to the hospital’s new policies, Nash stayed in the room with us the whole time. (no more looking at baby through the window!) So, our family and friends had to wait on pins and needles in the waiting room. Finally, around 2:30, Matt went out to share the news! He was such a proud Daddy of TWO little guys… Then, he brought my big boy and all of the grandparents back to the labor and delivery room. I gave Nash to Nurse Mary and welcomed the Big Brother in and up on the bed. Then, Mary gave our family our sweet baby boy. (We had a friend who had done it this way with her second born and we thought it was so sweet and less intimidating for Quinn!) As you can tell by Quinn’s face, he was immediately enamoured with his baby brother. His demeanor and faces were priceless and we are so thankful to have it all on video and in pictures. In true baby form, it didn’t take long for Nash to get super upset. Quinn immediatly started to “shhhhhhhhh” him, very loudly, over and over. Obvioulsy, it wasn’t helping…so, we suggested that he sing Nash a song. And, in true precious Quinn fashion, he melted our hearts. He started singing a song that he had apparently made up about, “I love you, Baby Nash, yes I do!” After that, he went in to “Twinkle Twinkle” and “Jesus Loves Me!” It was the most precious moment of my life and there was not a dry eye in the room. …Except for Nash’s! :) Hearing his big brother’s precious singing voice completely calmed him down…it was amazing! Then, after what seemed like forever, all of the grandparents got their little bit of time to hold him. Nana, Pawpaw, Mammer and Slickpaw were all in awe of him and how beautiful he was…and how he looked like his big brother! I loved watching it all…such sweet moments!

It is amazing how babies will quiet down for their big brothers/sisters. I guess they have been hearing that voice for 10 months, so they know it is a safe one!
