Nash’s Story…Chapter 2: The Morning Of

At 7:00 on the morning of Tuesday, July 6, 2010, Matt and I went into our only child’s room to wake him and tell him goodbye. We were so excited to share our excitement with him about what our day would hold. We gave him the Big Brother Bag that I had been collecting for for months…and we gave him more hugs and kisses than you’d ever be able to count. I tried not to get emotional…I tried not to be sad…but there was a little piece of me that was just so anxious about the change that would take place in our lives in just a few short hours. It was really no different than the feelings I had when we were going to the hospital to have Quinn…how would the labor be? And how would this little person forever change our lives? It was too much to comprehend, but I was ready to understand it!  
Quinn’s “Big Brother Bag” was full of things for him to do while he waited in the hospital…and would also be useful when I would be nursing his baby brother at home. It was full of easy “sit by Mommy” activities, books and games. I had so much fun putting it together for him. And, thankfully, he was SO excited about everything inside.
