Three Cheers to SIXTY Years!

This weekend, Mammer and Slickpaw came back to our neck of the woods to celebrate a BIG day! On Saturday, Slickpaw turned 60!!! We were so excited to celebrate him and try to make his day a special one! …

So, Matt and I (with the help of some of Mammer’s input) hung 60 synonyms for Slickpaw from the front door to the guest bedroom. It made for a pretty fun sight and was appreciated a bunch…

They said things like…
*a husband
*Baylor Pa
*a pig dissector (that’s what he and mom were doing when they met in 9th grade!)
*a world traveler
*a turkey smoker
*a prankster
and more…

 

Then, on the morning of his real birthday, he woke to a happy boy giving lots of Happy Birthday wishes…and Quinn IMMEIATELY wanted Slickpaw to have his presents. So, we picked our favorite and let them open it together.

Matt had made Slickpaw and Q the most special shirt to wear on this big day!!! And, they were both so very proud! How cute are these two!?!?…These pictures make it so obvious how much this little buddy adores his Slickpaw. And, there was no way to pick just one…or two…or three…
  We opened some more and got ready to have lunch at a fun pizza place. Slickpaw and Quinn had a great time playing games at Amazing Jakes.

Then, we came home to rest and take naps and the day took a crazy turn. What “we” expected to be an evening of burgers at Jasper’s and yummy cupcakes turned into a little surprise for me! (more on that later) But, we came home from that to open more gifts and celebrate a little more before it was bedtime! I hope Slickpaw knows how much we care about him and how glad we are that he was here to celebrate the BIG six-oh!
