The Sunday after Christmas, Nana & Pawpaw made the long trek from Houston to celebrate Christmas with us. When they got here, we immediately opened gifts! Then, the next day, after some time together, the grandparents kept a good eye on Quinn all day and evening so that Matt and I could enjoy a movie, shopping, dinner AND another movie! It was so nice to have such a LONG date…and, I don’t think Nana & Pawpaw minded the extra time with Q! :) Then, on Tuesday morning, after shopping for all of the ingredients the night before, Q and Nana got busy making Nana’s famous Cinnamon rolls. Quinn was a part of every step and truly enjoyed the time with his Nana. Even though the gifts and celebrations are extra fun, it’s the things like this that will be put to memory…take a little peek into their baking experience…
First…They made the dough and rolled it out…which is a little tricky, considering I didn’t have a rolling pin! (?) Quinn loved putting the flour on his hands and patting away. Secondly…they added the good stuff..butter, cinnamon and sugar. Quinn was an excellent cinnamon shaker! … Then, it was time to ROLLLLLL it up. All of that yummy goodness was all squished inside! … Next…Q watched as Nana cut it into individual pieces… And…it was placed on a baking sheet for baking… While they were cooking, it was time to make the icing… …and to do a little taste testing! I’d say he approved, considering he wanted MORE and MORE!… Then, they were out of the oven……and Pawpaw joined the fun to help Quinn put the icing on his own Cinnamon Roll. TAAA DAAAA! Don’t they look yum!? Trust me…they are!!!
