When Mammer and Slickpaw were planning on coming for a visit for Mammer’s birthday, I knew adding a Lowe’s Build & Grow workshop (Q’s 3rd) to the trip would make it EVEN more worthwhile! {…like they really need a reason besides the smile pictured below!} While Matt & I were at our church service day, Quinn went with his Mammer & Slickpaw to build a tic tac toe game board. They had a blast…and loved the quality time, for sure!
Proud of his finished product…and, never having a hard time finding a road for Lightening!

Letter of the Week: I
ice cream*igloo*inside
inch*IHOP*ice*insects
inchworm*invisible
It was “I” week…and it was fun! I hope Quinn continues to love our little activities as much as he has for these first few letters. And, it has been SO easy for me, because I’m still using the same little ideas…just the new letter.
1. We started with our Frog Street book and song. Q loved it, of course…and wanted to sing it OVER and OVER… 2. After that, we made lemon pudding and I let Quinn fingerpaint I’s in it. He had a blast! …and did good…that I was all by himself! :)
3. We did our “No Time For Flash Cards” art activity…and, it made Q’s favorite I word…ICE CREAM!…
4. Quinn hunted for all of the I’s in the big tub of foam letters.
5. And, used them on his I worksheet.
6. Q devoured his special Muffin Tin Munchies I lunch…look at all the Cheese-it I’s that I found! :) 7. This next activity entertained Q for HOURS!!! Seriously, HOURS!!! We used ICE water and warm water and he would place his new Color Changing Cars in one and then the other to watch them change. HE LOVED IT!
10. And, he practiced writing his I’s on his chalkboard in his room! :)
11. And, last but not least, we went on our field trip…to IHOP! Quinn got SO excited when he saw the sign…He said, “That I doesn’t have it’s dot!!!!” …
All of these were taken with Quinn’s camera…and he took all of them except for the one of he and I! :) …
Such a fun little outing…such a fun letter.

OUR Cravings!
In the midst of the Christmas craziness, I totally forgot to share some of my random preggo cravings. And, the only reason I was reminded of this first crazy craving was because I had it again today!!!…
A few evenings before Christmas, an Olive Garden commercial came on and I instantly NEEDED spaghetti-o’s with meatballs! Yes, my friends, I HAD. TO. HAVE. THEM!!!
So, my sweet husband and dad ventured out to the store to get me a few different kinds. And, after heating them thoroughly, I ate the ENTIRE CAN! And, it was just as great as I imagined.
Since then, I have eaten them a few more times and they are always SO yum! …
What a weird craving! What a good husband! {And, the week before, when Whataburger had orange drink instead of strawberry, he stopped at the convenient store to get me my BELOVED strawberry soda!}
Then, around Christmas and recently, Quinn has followed my lead and had a few cravings of his own. If you EVER ask him what he wants to eat when we’re out, he’ll say Which Which. He LOVES it! And devours every bite when we go! …Either the kids Pizza Sandwich or the PB&J! It’s his fave!
And, he has found a LOVE for these guys…
The Chinese buffet place needs to rethink their free kids buffet deal when this guy comes in the door. He ate his weight in crab legs! :)
And, NO LIE, the next picture was not staged. While eating BBQ a few weeks ago (because my love for BBQ ribs might be a little out of control!), this is how Q chose to dine on his dessert. A little man after his Momma’s heart!

Dear {beginning of} Second Trimester,
Dear {beginning of} Second Trimester,
Welcome to my world! I’m so happy that you’re here! A few weeks after you came onto the scene, I started feeling almost normal. Granted, I still have my moments of yuckiness and my MUST have a nap days…but, overall, you’re treating me well!
Because of you, the nesting has officially begun. Silly as it may sound, I’ve already almost killed myself cleaning out the guest room/future baby room’s closet. Now, it only contains the little amount of stuff that we have for our Little Dragon. It feels so good to open up the closet and just stare at my work! Such an accomplishment.
Because of you, my cravings have subsided a bit. I have moments where I NEED a bite of thePoeFam’s favorite new salsa. It may be 9 in the morning, but I need a bite. I also have loved the Crazy Cores Skittles (especially the orange ones) and Peanut Butter Whoppers! YUMMMY!
Because of you, my belly really started to pooch a bit…but, honestly, just looks a little flabby! I feel that it looks pretty different than it did with Quinn at this point, but maybe I’m wrong!? I still haven’t gotten congratulated from a stranger yet…that’s a fun moment, I think! … I’m ready to REALLY look preggo!
Because of you, I’m starting to feel the TINY baby movements. {at about 15 weeks} They’re still at the point where I’m ALMOST sure it’s the baby…but, since I’ve felt it before, I think I’m right! :) It makes me anxious to feel more and makes me so thankful to be carrying this precious little miracle.
So, for now, I’ll continue to enjoy being pregnant and not knowing what kind of baby is growing inside of me. The secret, although unnerving, is really kinda fun! I honestly think it helps me relax…because, the second I know, my nesting will be in FULL swing!
And, for now, I’ll continue to soak in EVERY precious moment with the Big Brother of the house! He truly couldn’t be sweeter and I couldn’t LOVE him more! …And, the “I love you, baby” that my belly hears on a weekly basis will continue to melt my heart!
We have a doctor’s appointment THIS week! So, stay tuned for a baby update! :)

Letter of the Week: U
is for
Uncle Ugbee* under
underwear*under*up
Upsidedown Show*umbrella
This week we learned all about “U!” We did lots of the same things as last week but just changed them to a new letter. Quinn was so excited to do the things again!!! (so the repetition is a positive so far!)
Here’s a list of what we did…
1. We started this week with our Frog Street Press song and book. This time it was called Uncle Ugbee…and, tonight at dinner, when I asked Quinn his favorite song, this is what he said! :) 2. We did our U craft from No Time for Flash Cards. He loved making the umbrella and gluing on all of the raindrops!
3. We practiced U’s on his Cars magnadoodle. He got a little frustrated at first and only wanted to make Q’s. So, I came up with a new approach…I drew the U and he drove on it with his car! He LOVED it! We did it dozens of times. Now, I can draw the star (start spot) and circle (stop spot) and he can make his U! Not bad! :)
4. We had our fun “Muffin Tin Munchies” U lunch! A hit, of course!
5. We did Starfall and Bemboo Zoo again!
6. We hunted for U’s in the big mess of foam letters. 7. He used them to decorate his little U worksheet.
8. On Saturday night, we had a little family movie night…UP! None of us had seen it and we ALL loved it! A perfect U movie!
9. We went on our field trip to U.S. Toy. Here’s Quinn’s picture of the sign! :)
10. We did our U Hunt around the house…but, this time Quinn took his umbrella to point at all of the U’s that he found!
11. And, we did lots of U practice. Quinn loved for me to draw the star and the circle so that he could make his U. So proud!!! On top of that, Quinn REALLY searched for U’s everywhere we went. He’d get so excited when he’d find one! …And, he found a fun new show that he LOVES. Seriously, let your kids watch it…they’ll laugh out loud! :)
