{***Remember that I warned you that these posts would be spread out and FULL of pictures! If you care…I’m going to do the “memories” posts first…then, I’ll do one on tips, etc! Hope you enjoy!}
After a very short night’s sleep in our fabulous condo, we all woke up like it was Christmas morning. We packed lunches and all of our necessary stuff and hopped in our van to head to MAGIC KINGDOM!
When we saw the sign, the excitement was through the roof. Quinn would scream and/or stare out the window in awe! We were FINALLY driving through the gates of Walt Disney World!
And, for our first day, taking the famous ferry was a must. It brought back such memories.
ThePoeFam and Mammer & Slickpaw couldn’t wait for the memories to begin…and we knew that the next 6 days were going to hold more than we could even imagine.
Walking on Main Street was like a dream. Again…such memories! Seeing Quinn point and jump and smile and experience it all was magical. (And, we had only been in the park for seconds!)
After Main Street, our first stop was Tomorrowland. Quinn was anxious to ride Stitch’s Great Escape so it was our first ride. Funny enough, Nash was already falling asleep…so, Mammer sat this one out and strolled him around. Q was giddy. Then we got inside…and the fear set in a bit. Not knowing exactly what to expect made the dark room and realistic problem about the aliens that had gotten loose a little much. …There were no tears and he was willing to continue…but he was scared. And, throughout the whole crazy ride, Matt and I were looking at each other wondering if we had made a bad “first ride” choice.
But, he did it…and loved talking all about it as soon as it ended! …
Then it was time for Buzz Lighyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Once again, no wait…and I stayed with our napping Chubber so that Mammer could ride. Q loved it!!!…but was anxious to go on to the next thing.
As we walked from Tomorrowland to Adventureland, we happened upon the darling “Dream Along with Mickey” show at Cinderella’s Castle. Nash was mesmerized since it was his first time to see Mickey in person! And, Quinn soaked up every moment. I loved watching them just as much as I loved watching the show.
Then, it was off to Adventureland to visit the much anticipated Pirates of the Caribbean! Quinn, once again, had that nervous excitement. Thankfully, we walked right in and hopped on our boat. And, we were quickly transported to the crazy pirate world. Quinn (and Nash) couldn’t decide where to look first. So fun…and, the addition of Jack Sparrow is pretty darn cool!
As soon as the ride was over and lots of pirates sussies were purchased, Quinn was chosen to participate in Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial. He even had to take the pirate oath. Cool…and, Jack Sparrow looked eerily like the real thing!
After our busy morning, we found a quiet spot right by the Pirates and ate our lunches. It was so nice to not have to wait in the long lines for lunch.
After lunch …and after a pirate gave Q his own patch…we made our way to the Jungle Cruse. It was silly…but Q and Nash both enjoyed it.
Since we were HOT after our Jungle Cruse, we walked to Frontierland so that we could see our first show. But, on the way, we got to meet Donald Duck! Quinn was BESIDE HIMSELF…SO excited to meet his first character. The hugs, smiles, knuckles, etc. were precious! Nash, on the other hand, was not so sure. He wanted to get away ASAP!
Thank goodness for air conditioning. We welcomed the break as I was taken back to my childhood!!! How I loved the Country Bear Jamboree…and I knew my boys would too. Quinn loved that I had seen it as a little girl and laughed and laughed at the silly bears.
Then, a little after 1:00, we used our Fast Pass to ride Big Thunder Mountain. Matt, Quinn, Slickpaw and I rode this one…and, as much as I enjoyed it, Quinn was happy to not go on it again. He thought it was a little too fast! :) I was proud of him for being brave.
WOW! A little over halfway through our first day and we had already done so much. The next stop was going to be a surprise that our little man would NEVER forget. Stay tuned…
