Disney World…Day 1: Are We There Yet?

{***First of all, let me preface by saying that these Disney posts are OVERWHELMING! The pictures..the info…WOW! SO MUCH info to share…and so many memories that I don’t want to forget. Sooooo….bear with me…you may see them here and there for quite some time!
Hope you enjoy!}

After dreaming, planning, talking, reading travel books, watching EVERY Disney movie ever made, reading blogs on Disney, counting down, booking flights, planning some more and packing, we finally crossed off the last day on our calendar and said the words, “We’re going to Disney World TOMORROW!!!” To say we were excited is a COMPLETE understatement.

And, on the morning of June 5th (Mammer and Slickpaw’s actual 40th Anniversary), we lugged 2 carseats, 1 double stroller, LOTS of luggage and 2 little boys and boarded the plane at DFW. After a little delay, we quickly changed planes in Atlanta and were on our way to Miami. And, after getting in our fabulous rent-a-van, we were ON OUR WAY!

Hilariously enough, we stopped for dinner at Golden Coral (We had missed EVERY meal and were STARVING)…and then embarked on a 3 1/2 hour drive before we arrived at our beautiful resort in Orlando. It was late…and, despite our exhaustion, we put the babies to bed and Slickpaw, Matt and I went grocery shopping.

Whew! By midnight, we were all nestled snug in our beds…dreaming of what the next day would hold! We knew it was going to be magical.

And, here is a sneak peek of what we were doing on the plane…I made Quinn a little “Activity/Memory Book” that kept us busy for a good while in the air.

It also had things to do throughout the week…granted, we were too tired to do it most nights…but, it’ll give us something fun to do now that we’re back.

Oh gosh, I imagine these posts will help lots of people plan a great trip! The activity book - so smart & fun! 2 questions: does Quinn love those "finger" shoes? Are they worth the money?? (boy's shoes are my weakness). And what kind of little snack stacker is that??? Glad y'all had an awesome trip! Thanks!!

ok. i assume your hubby designed and made those shirts. and i'm anxious to see what other matchy shirts, if any, your family sported. and since our family and my husband's parents are going in october, we'd so love to have matching shirts, i'd be very interested in buying some for the whole crew of your disney shirts.

I LOVE the book idea! That's a fantastic way to educate and entertain :) We are going on a trip in fall and are worried about plane rides! I'm sure something like this really helps though!

we got back from disney about a month ago, and now it is so fun to re-live it reading blogs from others who went. My kids (especially my daughter who is 4) had the BEST time!

Ok, friends...in response to your questions...

Paige,
Q LOVES his Vibrams! They are THE BEST shoes he's ever had! Worth the money! :) ...And, the snack container is Munchkin...from Target! LOVE IT!!!

Kdub,
We could do shirts!!! They would be lots cheaper if everyone had the same ones! The shirts with their names were an iron on from Etsy. A friend had left-overs from her trip and gave them to me...so I don't even know where to send them. Message me at my Etsy store (Piddle Designs) if you want to do family t's! :)

Jennifer,
I think most of the pages are pictured...and you can click on them to see them bigger. About the shirts, message me at my Etsy store (Piddle Designs) if you want to do family t's! :)We could easily do that same one for your fam!

Jaclyn,
THANK YOU for featuring us again! So fun!!!!
