Nash’s Halfy Birthday

Today was a fun day at our house! Our sweet Chubber Bubs turned 6 months old…a whole HALF!!! And, since we DO celebrate half birthdays around here, we had more fun giving the little brother a little extra lovin’ today!!!

After Quinn went to school, I gave Nash his breathing treatment, got him ready and played with him in his room for a while before it was time to go. He looked way too cute for words…Jan 6 013
Jan 6 015Then it was off to the doctor for his 6 month check up. Thankfully, his RSV is getting better and his ears are too. And, as far as development and growth, he couldn’t be doing better! He weighted 21.1 pounds (95th percentile) and got the O.K. to start eating foods. And, the best part…since he’s on meds, we had to wait to get the shots!!! No shots = super happy baby! Jan 6 022Our afternoon was spent going to Buy Buy Baby to pick up a few Half Birthday sussies, going to Target to pick out baby food (does anyone else LOVE doing this as much as me!?) and eating sushi with Daddy! YUM!

Then, when Daddy got home from work, my first love and my baby love had a serious conversation…

…And they melted my heart!!!
Jan 6 034Then it was finally time for Nash to get his first taste of real food…GREEN BEANS! So, we sang Happy Half Birthday (per Big Brother’s request) and got the cameras ready…Jan 6 036And, this face about sums up the experience…
Jan 6 038    …he HATED it! Gagged, choked, coughed, spit…HATED it! Hilarious! We tried 5 or 6 times and, in between smiles to Q, would get the same negative results!

Oh well! We’ll keep trying! But, the little party was a success. We had special half & half cupcakes, a spoon bouquet, a new ring stacker, baby food, and a new book I’d been really wanting to get him. And, Quinn even gave him a little lick of icing…which was much better than the green beans!!! Jan 6 028

So, Happy Half Birthday, Sweet Nash Baylor Poe! We love you so much and loved celebrating today with you! I can’t wait to find 1,000 other reasons to celebrate the BIG and little things of life with you!!!

My mom gave that book to my little one when he was born and I think it is the most precious book ever! And I always try the orange veggies with my kids first because they are a little bit sweeter and it seems to easy them into it more. Just a thought! :)

What a cutiepie!

Our Little Man will be 6 months in April, he's 11 weeks right now... I know it's crazy to say, but I can't imagine him ever looking as big as your boy. I love the idea of a half birthday party - that might well be something we could look into doing! :-)

Take Care,
Chantelle

Even though we don't know each other I have so enjoyed your blog this past year! I love how your family reflects the love of Christ and I love how sweet you are with your boys. Thank you for sharing! I am passing a little trendy blog award from my blog to yours :)
