Brittneythew Chapter Twelve: Eez a Party

Well, welcome back to “Brittneythew!” I’m sad that it’s taking me so long to get this all written…but, it’s really not the writing…it’s SCANNING all of the silly pictures! And, this time, I had to do it out of my scrapbooks, and the quality is HORRIBLE! Sorry. Makes me thankful for digital cameras! … Anyway, I’m determined to get this story finished before the baby gets here…and, if you need a refresher, click here! :)

As the week went on, everything got done...just as we knew it would!!! And, I was SO close to becoming a Mrs. On Wednesday the 30th, my husband-to-be got into town. If that doesn't make it real, I don't know what will!!! Then, on Thursday, all of our wedding party started trickling in! I couldn't believe that {really} all we had left to do was to celebrate.

So, on Thursday evening, those that were in town went to my favorite restaurant...Fuji! I sat with my girls and Matt sat with his guys! We laughed and had a great time...Fuji3 Fuji

After dinner, the girls and I headed to Molly's for my last un-married sleepover! We talked about all of the things that you'd expect girls to talk about two days before their friends' wedding day, and I was so thankful to have all of my dearest friends in one place!night night2
After a good night's sleep, I went home to get ready so that I could honor my sweet wedding party at a Bridesmaid Luncheon. It took place at the most precious tea room in Abilene and it was the perfectly quaint celebration.bmaidlunchThen, that afternoon, while Matt played golf with all of the guys, we did a few last minute things before we headed up to the church for our rehearsal. Sadly, that was the afternoon where we received the phone call from my florist saying that all of the peonies had been burned up (in whatever foreign land they typically flourished) and wouldn't be making an appearance at our wedding. I was disappointed, since peonies were my wedding flower...but quickly moved on. If that's the worst thing that happened, I'd say that was pretty great!golf So, we got all dressed up and headed to St. Paul United Methodist Church to run through the "I dos", beautiful songs and isle walks. Though it's a bit of a blur to me, I was told that it went well...and that the next day would be perfect.IMG_0003 IMG_0001 IMG_0002Then, we all hopped in our cars and drove to the fun, local Mexican Food spot called Enrique's. My parents frequented the place and knew it would make the most festive &   fun Rehearsal Dinner. When we told Matt's parents of the idea, they loved it, and immediately went to work to make it perfect in every way. From the decor, to the music, to the memory video, to the food...it was great!!! It was surreal to have so many special people all in one room...celebrating us!

As the night wound down, we said our goodbyes to family and friends...and, then in the parking lot to each other! The next time we saw each other, Matt would be at the alter and I would be walking down the isle. So, we gave our last engaged hug and kiss...Matt went to play a late night of basketball with his buddies...and I went to sleep in my bed as Brittney Gail Broyles for the very last time!
