This week we learned all about “U!” We did lots of the same things as last week but just changed them to a new letter. Quinn was so excited to do the things again!!! (so the repetition is a positive so far!)
Here’s a list of what we did…
1. We started this week with our Frog Street Press song and book. This time it was called Uncle Ugbee…and, tonight at dinner, when I asked Quinn his favorite song, this is what he said! :) 2. We did our U craft from No Time for Flash Cards. He loved making the umbrella and gluing on all of the raindrops! 3. We practiced U’s on his Cars magnadoodle. He got a little frustrated at first and only wanted to make Q’s. So, I came up with a new approach…I drew the U and he drove on it with his car! He LOVED it! We did it dozens of times. Now, I can draw the star (start spot) and circle (stop spot) and he can make his U! Not bad! :) 4. We had our fun “Muffin Tin Munchies” U lunch! A hit, of course! 5. We did Starfall and Bemboo Zoo again!
6. We hunted for U’s in the big mess of foam letters. 7. He used them to decorate his little U worksheet.
8. On Saturday night, we had a little family movie night…UP! None of us had seen it and we ALL loved it! A perfect U movie! 9. We went on our field trip to U.S. Toy. Here’s Quinn’s picture of the sign! :)10. We did our U Hunt around the house…but, this time Quinn took his umbrella to point at all of the U’s that he found!
11. And, we did lots of U practice. Quinn loved for me to draw the star and the circle so that he could make his U. So proud!!! On top of that, Quinn REALLY searched for U’s everywhere we went. He’d get so excited when he’d find one! …And, he found a fun new show that he LOVES. Seriously, let your kids watch it…they’ll laugh out loud! :)

Hi Brittney! I'm a first time commenter, but I've been reading your blog for a while! I just wanted to say that I L.O.V.E the creative things you do with your son. In fact, just this past week, I started the letter of the week activities with my 2 sons, ages 3 and 5, and they love them! Next up is definitely the muffin tin activities. Thanks for all the neat ideas...and congrats on the new baby.
:)
Where did you get your Frog Street books?
Love it! I've got the same question as Shannon- where can I get the Frog Street books?
You can get the Frog Street stuff at a teacher supply store. Mardel has all of it! :) ...And, I dind't get the "real" books. I got the reproducable book that I could make copies of! Hope that helps!
Looks like a great day! You are such a good momma!
SO fun! I love your ideas. Jack will seriously laugh out loud so hard at the upside down show. He loves it! So excited for your new baby.
