On Friday evening, thePoeFam loaded up the car and headed to DFW airport to take a trip to Ohio! Why Ohio? Well, some business partners (and friends) of Two-Five wanted to fly us down for Matt to speak at a church near Cleveland…and we quickly agreed to take the mini-vacay! …Needless to say, our little man was SUPER excited about getting to fly on a plane! We had talked about it for days and he couldn’t wait to get there! …Don’t worry, they let us carry him on…he fit the requirements perfectly! :) …
When we finally boarded the plane, our little man BEAMED! He was a precious little traveler…with his own window seat! …
After a few problems with the rent-a-car, we arrived at our beautiful hotel, the Renaissance Cleveland, at about midnight! But, that wasn’t stopping Quinn…he was ready to go! He loved the huge fountain and immediately needed money to throw inside!… Then, it was up the elevator to our beautiful room. Quinn was the first one in and, with eyes as wide as saucers, he whispered, “big boy beds!!!!” It was precious! He was so excited to see the big boy beds…and must have known that one was for him! After some 1 AM room service of cheese pizza and hot wings, we were all ready for bed…kind of! Q had a hard time winding down, but just LOVED that big boy bed! …The next morning, at about 7:30 (only about 5 1/2 hours of sleep), we were awoken with the precious little face peeking out of bed saying, “Good morning, Mommy and Daddy!” We were amazed that he was so chipper! …After getting ready, a quick game of hide-and-seek from Mommy and a yummy breakfast, we headed out into downtown Cleveland to see some of the nearby sights. …Matt taught Q to say, “It’s Cleveland, foo’” in a “Cleveland” accent. When we’d see something that seemed typical Cleveland, Matt would say it, and Quinn would quickly repeat. It was hilarious! For the afternoon, Matt went to a church event with Melissa (the owner of Two-Five’s partnering business) while Q and I relaxed at the hotel. I figured he would take a great nap, but I was wrong. He wiggled and squirmed in the bed for almost 2 hours before napping for 1 1/2. Oh well! Too excited! :) … When they got back, we headed to Lake Erie to take some pics…the weather was so beautiful!…
Quinn with “Juh-lissa!” He adores her…and I think the feelings are mutual!… Then, since Cleveland is the home of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, we had to eat at their Hard Rock Cafe. Fun!… After dinner, we headed back to the hotel for a quick late night swim before the cool indoor pool closed. Since I forgot Q’s swimsuit, I put him in with his shorts, and he WAS NOT having it. He was devastated that his shorts were “all dirty!” So, it was the white trash Texans with the baby swimming in his diaper!!! Oh well…it was all of 10 minutes!
Then, after a better nights sleep, we woke up on Sunday to go to Massillon, Ohio for Matt to preach. He did a great job and the people were so complimentary of his message…and Q even went to his little class. When I picked him up, he talked all about his new friends! I was so proud of him!
After lunch, we went to the famous Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Matt was SUPER excited…and, I must admit, it was pretty cool! We stayed for 2 1/2ish hours and all had a great time!…
Quinn tried for a good while to try to grab the Super Bowl ring that wasn’t really there…it was a mean trick! :) …
There was a little field outside of the museum, and Matt and Quinn had TOO much fun throwing around Quinn’s new football. It was so precious to watch…Matt was SUPER proud that his little man was enjoying it so much. When we got in the car, Quinn kept saying, “that was fun football outside, Daddy!” Melted his heart!!!!…
Our last evening, we went to a fancy steakhouse in downtown. We were SUPER spoiled by Melissa on the trip…eating, playing, and having such a fabulous time!!! …Here’s Q with his first chocolate covered strawberry…do you think he liked it? … We all slept great our last night there, ate another yummy breakfast and headed to the airport. We weighed in (at 29.02 lbs…good grief!!!) and entertained ourselves in the airport while we waited for our plane!…
It was a GREAT trip, and despite lack of sleep, THIS GUY was a perfect little traveler! What fun memories in Cleveland, foo’! :)

Looks like such a fun trip! I can't believe how grown up Quinn looks...especially in the last picture! He's such a cutie!
Looks like it was fun! Glad Quinn is such a good traveler! We're hoping our son's traveling skills have improved since our last trip in time for our mini-vacation in a few short weeks...
Adorable pictures, Brit!
I am very much jealous of the Pro football Hall of Fame trip! I have to go sometime before I die.
