This trip, I felt like I got to re-live parts of my Abilene childhood through my baby boy’s eyes!…Take a look…
#1: Mammer found these cards that I played with for hours on end as a little girl. The pictures on the cards brought back memories and Quinn sat {for way longer than a two year old should} and played with them too! Gotta love it… #2: Daddy {and Corbin} took Quinn to play golf at Maxwell. It’s the little municipal course in Abilene that I “played” with my dad dozens of times…and was also the place where I took my 4 year old golf lessons as the only girl in a class of too many boys! :) Quinn loved it…and I loved snapping some pics as they finished up the front nine! … And, to top it off, he used MY putter! Look how tiny and precious!… #3: We ate at a new chicken place…but, that new chicken place used to be an old BBQ place {Harlow’s} that I ate at on many occasions!… #4: We toured the Mrs. Baird’s Bread Bakery! Who knows how many field trips took me through this place…and how many hundreds of times I’d driven by to smell the oh so yummy bread baking! And, this is the place that Mammer used to come see Santa as a little girl! Quinn loved it and was so attentive as Leslie, our guide, showed us the ins and outs of bread making!…(sadly, they wouldn’t let us take pics inside the bakery!) #5: We ate La Carne Guisada burritos from La Popular! They are SO yummy…and Quinn loved them too!… #6: We ate Costal Cookies from the mall! When I saw they were back open, I think I almost cried! And, thankfully, Quinn loved them as much as I always have! … Here he is sitting on that familiar Abilene mall floor eating his little bag full of the minis! Mmmmm mmmm!….
#7: And, last but not least, we hung out at home!…the only home that I knew from birth to age 18! I love that my little man loves it as much as I always have!…… Next trip: The West Texas Fair and Rodeo and Perini’s! Can’t wait!!!
