The Week After...

You'd think that the week after a birthday would be a bit of a let down...party is over...no more presents...no more cake! But, the week after Quinn's birthday was full of so many FUN things! Check 'em out...

We went to Quinn's 2 year check up on Monday! As soon as we got out of the car, Quinn started talking about all of the things he remembered from the last time we were there! His little memory just amazes me! The thing he was most excited about was the "fish!" He said..."see fish...not real...ta-tend!" (pretend!) And, we had a great time finding all kinds of things while we waited! ...But, I really don't understand why they can't have a real fish tank? This one is less trouble, for sure! ...

We colored on the paper while we waited and read lots of books! ...When Dr. Guetershloh got there, Quinn was a little apprehensive but quickly warmed up! He talked to him more than he ever has before and I was so thankful! Dr. G was impressed with Q's vocabulary and loved how he could even say his hard name! :) He did say that Q is definitely a little bow-legged but that we don't need to do anything about it. (Matt just thinks it'll make him jump higher...whatever!?!?) He said to continue with potty training when Q shows interest and to take him to the dentist soon! (And that I should be brushing his teeth every day...oops! Am I the only bad mommy that isn't very good about that!?!?) ...

Here are his 2 year stats:

Weight: 26.6 (25-30th percentile)

Height: 34.3 (50-75th percentile)

Head: 19.3 (75th percentile)

Then, after a very lazy day on Tuesday (and a definite "terrible two" day for Q), we gladly accepted the invite to go and have donuts with some friends on Wednesday morning! It was a great reason to get us out of the house and eat some yummy goodness! ...

Sweet buddies having breakfast...there was a table of 3 old men having breakfast and coffee just one table over. Could it be these three doing that some day? Such a sweet thought!
My RMY and her precious little man came too! I loved loving on Tristan and want/need to do it more often! I loved spending time with them!!!... And, the precious little lady below is Emmy...showing us her "Fancy Nancy" fingers! Such a cutie...

On Wednesday afternoon, after a McDonald's lunch with Daddy, we happened upon this cool race car outside of Wal-Mart. You could get in and "drive it!" Quinn thought it was just like Lightening McQueen! Super cool!!!

Then, Thursday came and it had a REALLY fun surprise! Quinn's gift from Brad & Remy didn't quite make it in time for his birthday! So, after they got it in and put it together, they came over to give Q his very own "bucky horse!" (That's what mine was called when I was little!) I wasn't sure if he would like it (he HATES the carousel at the mall, doesn't want to ride rides at Peter Piper, etc.), but he LOVED it almost from the second he saw it! ...When we asked him his horse's name, he immediately said, "Gus!" What a great name for a horse!!! No idea where he got it, but we love it!
What a precious "Aunt and Uncle" Brad and Remy are to Q! I am so thankful for how much they love him and he will forever love them dearly! ...And, I have a feeling that Gus is going to get ridden for hours and hours and hours!!!
On Saturday, after our photo shoot and a good nap, we were so excited to go to Cade's first T-ball game! Quinn and Cruse had TONS of fun sharing Skittles and playing their own little baseball game! What sweet buddies they are!!!...Cade did such a great job and we were so proud of him!!! It was the perfect evening to spend at the baseball park with friends!!!

Check out how cool #33 is!!!!....

And, that's just the things we have pictures of! We also...
*hung out with Baby Christopher
*went to the big boy potty a bunch of times!
*took 2 year pictures with SDS Photography! (& we can't wait to see them!)
*spent lots of time in our newly liveable backyard (more on that coming soon!)
*promoted to the 2 year old class at church!
*and went to Joshua's first birthday party!

WOW! What could top that!?!?

If you need a good pediatric dentist - let me know we had a wonderful one when we lived in Frisco. I'm all about word of mouth on Drs and Dentists - so just let me know.

Loved the baseball pictures - too cute.

Okay.... too many things to want to comment about on this post. I'll keep it (relatively) short, though! #1 - good for you giving the boy some donuts. He's a skinny mini! #2 - what a cool gift from Brad & Remy! & #3 - i hate that stupid car outside of WalMart! The one day recently I got brave and took Christopher to that WalMarts, the guy started the car and revved the engine right as we were walking past, and woke the boy up! Stupid race car. I'm sure if C were a couple years older he'd love it...
