Q liked it too...and Matt couldn't have been more excited to get his favorite chair back...even though it had gotten a makeover!!!...
Then, it was on to more presents. Matt surprised me with a bench seat...seriously surprised me! I had NO idea!!!...And, I can't wait to decorate above it! ... My 83 year old great-aunt surprised me with an asparagus painting that she has been working on! (When she asked me what I wanted her to paint, it was so hard...and since Matt's FAVORITE veggie is asparagus, I thought it would be cute in the kitchen!) Anyway, I LOVE the way it turned out and can't wait to find the perfect spot for it! ... And, here's more of my bday loot...lots of fun things...including a card that says I can get caught up on ordering pictures! (I'm over a year behind!!!)
After we got ready, it was time for a little Mommy and Q photo shoot in the new "red chair!" ...
And, time for the nose picture, of course!...
Then, since Matt took the morning/afternoon off, we headed to hibachi for lunch...MY FAVORITE!!! YUMMY...
Looking at all of the origami at the hibachi place...
We piddled around for a bit and then came home to blow out the candles on my cake....
And tried to get Q to say "Happee Birday, Mommy" on camera as cute as he'd been saying it all day! ... The cake was more important...
When my parents left around 3, I put Q down and curled up on the "red chair" to read more of my recent guilty pleasure...
At around 6, Q and I headed up to church. {Wednesdays are not typically fun birthday days for youth pastor's wives! My first birthday married was on a Wednesday and it was BOOTY!...but this one was MUCH better!...he learned from his mistakes!;0)}I got lots of special birthday attention at church and then the youth crew decided that they wanted Taco Bell for dinner. YUCK! So, I broke my cardinal rule...I got Whataburger and took it into Taco Bell...it's my birthday...I can break rules, right!?!? Here's sweet Stacy getting on to me...because I have {jokingly...kind of!?!?} gotten on to her SO many times for doing this very thing!
After dinner, Matt, Q and I headed home to end the birthday in style...a piece of bday cake and the 2 hour end to Hollywood week of American Idol...it was the perfect ending to a great 29th! ... Here's to my last year of youth!!! ;)

Happy Belated Birthday Brittney! It looks like you had a wonderful day! Love the "new" chair!
88?!?! I've never done that sort of work before, but it seems lime it would be more physical than what great-grandma could do. Wow - that's impressive. And the painting is super sweet. All of it sounds like so much fun! And I love the cake! Happy (late) 29th!
Happy Birthday!
Love that chair!
Just so you know, being 30 (or more) isn't all that bad. What are your other treasures? You've got me curious. Glad it was a great day!
Happy Birthday! Sounds like it was a great day :)
I'm glad you had a Happy first and last 29th! I can't believe your upholstery lady is still working! I love the houndstooth...super cute! And let me know if you need to borrow the rest of the Shopaholic series. My mom and I have finished them all and just went to see the movie!
