Will these work?

Since black-eyed peas are "supposed to" be eaten on New Year's Day to bring good luck (and since my mom always ingrained this STUPID tradition in my head), I went to the store this afternoon to get my one can of black-eyed peas so that the PoeFam would be covered for 2009. (So STUPID...I believe in JESUS, not DUMB SUPERSTITIONS...oh well!) Anyway, because of my procrastination, and because EVERYONE else believes in this dumb tradition too, they were SOLD OUT! So, I bought the next best thing...tiny tender field peas! I mean, they look just like black-eyed peas on the can and it saved me a trip to another store! ... So, when we arrived at our friends' house for dinner tonight, they laughed at me when I told them I had to heat my field peas (a.k.a. fake black-eyed peas) to go with our meal! ...Sadly, they were not as tasty as black-eyed peas, but we'll pretended that they "worked" just the same...
Q says he boycotts this tradition for 2010! YUCK!...
{But, my non-veggie eater was a fan in 2008!) {And, if you're curious as to where this dumb superstition started, click here!}
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
