In March of 2002, my typical day as a Senior at Baylor University looked like this...
Get up early & get ready (make a sack lunch, too)
Get in the car with Sharee and Lair and pick up our fellow student teaching buddy, Cori
Drive to China Springs (25ish minutes) to student teach
Teach all day
Drive back
Relax for a bit (except on Monday...we had a night class)
Hang out with friends
It was a pretty simple life! A good one! A really FUN one! We loved our student teaching school and knew that teaching was what we were meant to do!
Well, on March 12, 2002, I did my normal daily things, and after the "veg" part of my day, went over to my good friend Meredith's to pick her up to go tanning. When I knocked on her door at University Place, she answered the door, and in her living room I saw a guy sitting there that I didn't recognize. She introduced me to her friend, Matt Poe. I immediately said, "oh my gosh...Matt Poe...I've always heard of you!" in a way too enthusiastic voice. (Which now, knowing my husband, blew his head up about 10 times!) You see, Matt used to be the intern at the "rival" baptist church when I was in high school...and I'd heard of him through my friends that had gone to that church. Meredith was one of those people and, when Matt came to Waco to visit the seminary, he wanted to say hello to her. ...
Anyway, after my "I've heard of you" comment and him saying something along the lines of "I'm kind of a big deal," he asked me why I was so dressed up. I found it kind of strange that he was almost mocking my choice of dress, (Which, at the time, I thought was pretty darn professional/cute!) and I proceeded to make a comment about his blue bandanna, navy blue shirt and blue jeans...don't mess with me...I can mock {a.k.a. flirt} right back! ... I don't remember what was said after that...but, soon after, I left to tan...

i LOVE reading how people met! can't wait until chapter 2!
ok i am loving this...even though I already know it by heart, I love hearing it again!!!you may be motivating me to do my story...although, i don't know if I can remember that far back!!!
ooh! i'm so excited to read the rest of these!
This is so fun!
I'll never forget you telling me that you had a crush on Matt Poe. I thought it was so bizarre that your two worlds had managed to collide considering I knew both of you, but from totally different areas of my life. Once Ryan and I hung out with the 2 of you, I could see something in the works. Please don't leave the part out about Ryan telling Matt you were "high maintenance" as your story continues!! :)
ooh, this is entertaining!!
How fun!!
I am catching up! this is hilarious! I havent been to blog world in forever but I remember your not so exciting week end in college station with bb! We all you should have known it could not have worked after all that!Live and Learn right! Things don't make sense until we grow up!
