Book It!

We've been quite the little "Book It!" family lately! Do you remember Book it!? In elementary school, after you'd read a certain number of books, you got a sticker on your Book it! pin. Then, you got to take your pin to Pizza Hut for a free pizza. It was quite exciting...and I remember loving that shimmery pin! ... Oh, the simple things!...

Anyway, the teacher in me is super excited that my little man loves to read so much! One of my favorite things to do is to take him to the book store to pick out new books. I love that he can't get enough of reading and that he will bring me book after book, plop in my lap and listen to the whole thing! (most of the time!) I hope his love for reading continues and that books are something we can share a love for (and, I must admit that my love for reading has been rekindled...I used to love it so much...back in my Ramona Quimby days...and have found a love for it again!)

Here's the stack of books that he brought to me this morning, one by one, to read to him...
And, here's a few books I have been reading lately...

A Mother's Heart by: Jean Fleming...a precious book that shows you how to really focus on loving and raising your children the way that Christ intended. It was written in the 80's but has so much timeless information...
The Confident Woman by: Anabel Gillham...If you want God to really change you and show you a new way of thinking, read this book! It is truly life changing and one that I want to read over and over so that I can truly understand and apply the truths given! ...I have one chapter left have loved it so very much!...

And, Matt always has a cool new book that he's reading...I know he's reading Jesus Wants to Save Christians by: Rob Bell right now...May you fill up your Book It! pin soon...Happy Reading!

I LOVED book it! The best I'm doing to read these days is a magazine. I'm almost finished with my Nov issues. Beth is now reading to us, so cool. Jacob just started to page through his books. Hooray!

I always did Book It in Elementary School. I proudly wore my pin on my Jean Jacket...it was the coolest thing!

Carter is at the stage that after I read him a book he will "read" it back to me...it is surprising how he can usually retell the story just by looking at the pictures. I tell him that he is such a great little reader and you can just see his face light up...so precious!

oh you better believe book it still exists, although kids don't get quite as excited about a pizza hut coupon as they used to. what has happened to kids these days?

I totally blame Book It for how reading a good book always makes me crave pizza.
