While the cat's away...

the mice will play! (but they'll MISS DADDY, too!)
With bittersweet feelings, Q and I took Matt to the airport on July 26th so that he could go to a Mission Trip in Tijuana, Mexico. Even though we were so excited to see what the Lord was going to do in and through him, we were extra sad to say goodbye for 8 days! So, with tears in my eyes as Q and I left the airport, we embarked on our 8 days with no Daddy. ... And here's what we did...

On our first night home alone, our friends Amy, Ellie and Emerson spent the night. Even though it was a girl, and they didn't sleep in the same bed, it was Q's first sleepover. He loved having Ellie over to play and eat breakfast with in the morning...
Then, on day 2 of being alone, we went to Quinn's 15 month check up. (we were a month and a day late for this checkup...we had to reschedule the one that was closer to 15 months because we went out of town...oh well!) Even though it wasn't fun to deal with 4 shots without Daddy there, Q did a great job. He only cried for a minute...
...and was quickly enjoying his "that." (passy!) ... Dr. G answered all of our questions...
*No spanking yet, Q can start taking a vitamin, Transitioning to one nap is coming soon, His bowed legs look fine, His drooling can't be stopped, Don't think about weaning the passy until 2 years...etc...
And, Quinn's stats were...
Weight: 23 lbs. 7 oz. (30%)
Height: 31 inches (50%)
Head: 18.8 (75%)
Oh no, we have a tall, skinny baby with a BIG head!

We played and played...and laughed and laughed...and played some more...

And talked on the phone to Daddy as much as we could...

We went swimming...and wore cool "hats"...Check out the imagination below...

...we proudly showed off new tan lines...

And Grammer and Slickpaw took Q to a Rough Riders game...complete with lots of ice cream and successfully mastering the word "CHARGE" after the "duh duh da duh da duh!"...

We seemed to stay in our PJ's a little longer on some days...

And played in our playroom A LOT...

Then, because it was 102 degrees, we went swimming again and had so much fun laughing at Slickpaw and "jumping" into the pool...

This time we stayed so long that our feet and fingers got extra pruney...

The morning of the day Daddy got home, we went to our last swimming lesson...Slickpaw helped since Daddy couldn't be there. At this lesson, Q "got" to go under...it wasn't his favorite thing, but he didn't cry. We did it three times and were sure ready to play in the pool after that was over.

Don't get us wrong...we don't want Daddy to go out of town for a LOOONNNGGG time, but it was a fun, full week!

He does have some skinny little legs! And your dad cracks me up! He looks more concerned about Quinn going under water than probably Quinn was!
