A Bronze Medal Idea

In honor of the Olympics, I decided that it would be fun to do a little Olympic art/learning activity with Quinn. Since the Olympics are CONSTANTLY on at our house, Q is always seeing the Olympic rings. I've been talking to him a lot about circles...so, we cut out 5 big rings from card stock and played with them for a while. Q successfully said "circle" many times! Then it was on to the fun part...markers! I gave him one marker and one ring at a time so that he could "color" it the appropriate color. He would make a scribble or two on the ring and then get entranced with taking the lid on and off of the marker. Even though I was a little disappointed with his lack of coloring interest, I was fine with his dedication to the marker lid. ...until...he got frustrated! I don't know if it was the fact that he couldn't get the marker lid on as quickly as he would like...or that he was starting to get marker on his fingers!...Whatever it was, the FIT was coming! So, I kindly and calmly took the markers away while explaining that it wasn't worth getting so frustrated over. ...And that's when all 'you know what' broke loose. He was devastated! Heartbroken! ...Needless to say, it was not the "gold medal" idea I had hoped it would be! We'll try it again in 2 years!
