My heart ached all day today. I mean, can you seriously imagine having to search for your baby's body out of a pile of rubble? The thought makes me sick. I must admit that I questioned why God would allow such a thing! I never doubt His goodness, but sometimes I'm confused at the purpose of all of these horrific things that have happened lately. But, amidst my confusion, it's so comforting to know that God's heart ached all day today too. {Ann Voskamp puts that thought to words beautifully here!} And, I'm SO very thankful that, in all things, God works for the good of those who love him. (Romans 8:28)
And, today, I was blessed enough to pick up my Kindergartner early from school.
{I just couldn't stand it any more. And storms were rolling in!}
Thankfully, that's all it was. A storm. And, not even a very bad one.
Soon, my in-laws came through the door with my Preschooler.
And, a few hours later, my husband came home from work and kissed us all.
It was a normal day.
But, even though I had normal "Mommy moments" of impatience and frustration, my heart was more thankful.
I heard "I Love You, Momma" a dozen times today.
I got more kisses than I can remember.
I held hands as we crossed the street.
I looked into two sets of big brown eyes and said "Goodnight!"
I said prayers while holding little hands.
I blew kisses and caught kisses.
I tickled backs. ...one more time...and one more time.
And, I'm going to bed with my house and heart so very full.
{Nasher…blowing kisses, catching kisses and putting my kisses that he had caught in his heart!}
May He truly give the people of Oklahoma a peace that surpasses all understanding.(Philippians 4:7)
***And, now it's time to HELP!!! My precious photographer and friend, Chelle Cates is collecting gift cards for 2 families that were affected by this tragedy. Here is a little about them and what they need...
The T family has a newborn baby boy and a four year old girl. The P family has a six year old girl, 10 year old girl and 14 year old boy. Both families lost EVERYTHING except the clothes on their backs. They could use cards to Wal-Mart, Target or Lowe's....even if $5 is the most you can do, that is $5 they don't have today. Let's bless these precious families!!!
Please message Chelle or email me at ThePoeFamBlog@aol.com to get her address if you’d like to send gift cards to these families!!!
