Today, we had the fun privilege of going to the Dallas Zoo with some of our favorite people. I kept the trip a surprise for the boys…and, when we drove up and saw Cruser, Q was OVER THE MOON!
And, the day was full of fun. The boys guided us with their maps and got excited at each and every turn. There were moments of sprinkles, and moments of LOTS of rain…but, we didn’t let it rain on our parade. We were actually thankful for the coolness and small crowd that it brought.
By far, my favorite part were the giraffes. I loved feeding them and being so close. They’re such gentle and amazing creatures.
As our day was coming to the close, we decided to ride the monorail. What started off as a nice, relaxing ride became exciting really fast…
See this cracker covered face!?!?!!…
…moments before this picture was taken, that sweet face was IN THE MOUTH of the pelican that you see in the distance.
Yep…you read that right…IN THE MOUTH OF THE PELICAN!!! Q and Cruser were sitting in front of Nash and me…and, when we passed, the pelican that was on the tracks stuck it’s head in our car, opened its mouth, and bit Q’s head! It was the CRAZIEST thing I’ve ever seen. If ONLY there were a picture…it would surely win a contest! Thankfully, Q wasn’t hurt at all and thought it was hilarious! What a CRAZY moment!
In a nutshell, we are so thankful that we were able to spend the day with our very best friends! We love them so much and cherish moments such as these!!!
