Week 4 Snippet:
Topic: Me…as a wife

Scriptures:
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Hebrews 10:24

It's better to live alone in the corner of an attic than with a quarrelsome wife in a lovely home.
Proverbs 21:9

What God taught me this week:
*God made me hold me tongue this week. If something started coming out of my mouth that might give Matt reason to sleep on the roof, I rethought it. Not that I stay in the habit of saying quarrelsome things, but I felt like I was more intentional to be encouraging this week. I pray that it’s something that I continue to keep in the forefront of my mind. Our house is much nicer than our attic anyway!

*This week, my heart smiled when, as I was praying for Matt, I caught myself praying ALL four scriptures that I focused on for January. I was amazed at how God used them all to apply to one specific prayer!!! It solidified to me that praying God’s Word is POWERFUL…and that He is going to do great things this year through praying a specific prayer each week. …Now I’m just praying that He will truly allow me to continue to hide his Words in my heart so that they will continue to come to mind when I need them the most.

Up Next: Week 5
Topic: Our Family…wearing the armor of God

Scriptures:
David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 1 Samuel 17:45

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Ephesians 6:10-18
