Due to a 3rd birthday, Easter, lots of family in town and really starting to get goin’ on Nash’s room, the fun little activities with Quinn have been few and far between! Our “quality time” has seemed to consist of playing all of the new games he got for his birthday! :) (Uno MOO and Candy Land Castle are SUPER fun, by the way!!!)
But, Quinn did learn a verse that I’d like to share…and, this little activity made me realize how ready I am to get back doing our letters, Bible verses and fun times together. It really is a precious time that I cherish!!…
I have hidden your Word in my heart that I
might not sin against you.
Psalm 119:11
First, I made little cards with all of his verses on them. I put stickers to help him recognize which one it was. I plan on putting these in a little photo album to put in my purse. It’ll be a great “grocery line” thing to pull out! After we went through them, I showed him that I had printed the same verses on smaller paper. He helped me match them by looking for the same starting word. We decorated a little foam heart box. We wrote the verse on a big heart. This verse gave us the opportunity to talk about sin and how it was when you do something that isn’t good. I let Quinn know that if he had verses in his head and his heart, it would be LOTS easier to always make the right choice and do the good thing…instead of to sin!!! Then, we used foam letters to put “Q’s verses” on the back. Then, he placed all of his verses IN his heart! … Just like the verse said. He was so very proud of his creation!
