Change is Good!

After exactly 29 months, Quinn slept in his crib for the very last time! He didn’t care. I was sentimental. I rocked him, read to him, sang to him and took pictures as he went “nigh-night” in his baby bed for the last time.

Then, on August 28th, we got up and got busy! Moving things…Slickapw & Daddy brought home the mattress and box springs…Daddy took apart the crib…Quinn measured and hammered….and Mammer and I decorated. I loved doing all of it for my BIG boy… Quinn napped in our bed so that we could work while he slept. And, when he woke up, we told him that he had a “sussy” (a.k.a. surprise) waiting for him in his room. He ran with anticipation to see what was waiting for him. And, was extremely disappointed when the “sussy” was a bed! Wahhh! Wahhhhhhhh! It was our mistake for showing it to him with none of his cool stuff on it! … But, when bedtime came, it was a different story! He was ecstatic to climb up in his BIG BOY BED and read stories with Mommy! And, he slept brilliantly. I didn’t know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised when he made it through the night and called us to come and get him in the morning. …I have to admit that after 4 perfect nights, I’m over the fact that I don’t get to rock my baby anymore. Cuddling with him in his bed is even greater!!!
