Blessed Beyond Belief: Christmas Day 2008

Christmas 2008 had very high expectations...I wanted the most precious and perfect time for my little man...and it met them all! All of the events leading up to the day were priceless, but the actual day couldn't be matched! We woke up at about 7:20 to our little man talking in the monitor...we scrounged around to get "ready," load up the video camera, and get Thomas moving around the track...then, we went in Q's room and greeted a very happy little boy! We both held his hands as we walked into the living room...excitedly letting him know that Santa had come to his house! When we rounded the corner and he saw his train table, we got the reaction we were hoping for....he let go of our hands and RAN to see his table. He immediately started playing and was in shock of what was before him! It was precious! ... After 30 minutes or more of "choo chooing," we showed Q that Santa's cookies and milk had been eaten, and then it was on to stockings...Santa filled one and Grammer and Slickpaw filled their massive one...and it was packed full of books, games, toys, clothes and more! What fun! ... Then, after many breaks to play with the train table and to read some books, we moved on the the "real" gifts...and that went on and on and on! We are all so very blessed and had so much fun opening all of the things that we got for one another! I love surprising my family with things that I know they'll love...and getting some fun stuff for myself is never bad either! ... I think we stopped opening after 11...and all of the gifts for Q STILL hadn't been opened! We decided we'd do the rest later...
Squeezes for Mickey and Goofy...
Seriously reading a book with Grammer...
At about noon, we made a yummy brunch...orange rolls, quiche and more...and got ready! Then, around 3, Matt's parents arrived! It was so fun to have the whole gang there! (minus Bethanie and Derin...we missed you {three}so much)...We cooked a scrumptious dinner...ham, broccoli cheese rice, mashed potatoes, fruit salad, rolls...YUM! ... And, of course, continued with our Christmas Crackers so we could take the annual paper hat pic...Q was not amused!...
After eating, {on my new beautiful Christmas dishes}, we opened more gifts...the rest from Grammer and Slickpaw and all of the ones from Nana and Pawpaw! WOW! What a Christmas!
My little Santa's helper was so happy...he loved it all...learning about the birth of Baby Jesus...doing our advent calendar...opening gifts...talking about Sanalaus...and more! He made this Christmas magical...the kind of magical that I remember feeling as a kid! What fun! ...And, even though the decorations are down and Christmas music has stopped playing, I'm almost ready to do it all over again!

{a post on Q's gifts and my favorite gifts coming soon!!!}
