This weekend, I went to our church Ladies' Retreat. To be honest, I usually find things like this cheesy, but this year seemed different. First of all, the theme was so cute...and Matt designed the shirts! If the shirt is cool, it has to be a good event, right?! (That was proven true during my Baylor/Chi O days!!) Second of all, I am on the Ladies' Council and knew about all of the cute activities that were planned. And, lastly, the idea of getting away with the girls...with no baby monitors, no diapers, and no "cackers," did seem quite appealing. Don't get me wrong, when I said goodbye to Matt and Q, I did have tears in my eyes. This was my first night to be away from my baby, but I was so excited to spend that much needed alone time with the Lord.
To go along with the "loved" theme, many ladies from our church told their testimonies...all which came back to the fact that Jesus Christ was their hope, their foundation and their TRUE love! Hearing the heart of people that I see week after week was so special! And, getting to remind myself that God loves me with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), was so refreshing. It was so great to spend time together at Canton, on bunk beds, walking by a beautiful lake, and worshiping our Lord. I'm already looking forward to next year!!!

My "mug buddies!!" ...We were all to bring a fun coffee mug to the retreat. We put our names on the bottom, and when it was our turn, we went to the table and chose a mug. Then, we had to find our "mug buddy" and vow to pray for them each time we used that mug! So fun!!!... And isn't mine precious!? It says, "Nothing is more soothing than the peace that comes from resting in God's love."...And, I plan to eat ice cream in it! It's HUGE! Thanks, Heather! :)

Cute pic's. I love the shot of the my mug buddies. Wink! I'm so glad that you came to the retreat and enjoyed it. I remember that first retreat I had to leave my boy(s).It was really hard, but every time we go away the daddy's get to see just exactly what we as mommies do. They always seem to come away with a greater appreciation for our stay at home mommy duties and they understand a little better why the clothes aren't always folded on time. You are so precious and I am so glad that you got my mug. If you could please pray for Luke. We took him to the Dr. this morning and he has another ear infection and swollen tonsils. I'm guessing he's probably going to require the tonsils to come out as this is his second bout with swollen tonsils in about a month. You know how miserable they are when they hurt. He keeps saying, "Mommy my ear hurts willy willy bad". Breaks my heart. Thanks girlie, Love ya and working on your "thang".(wink) Heather
