Quinn's First Birthday Party

The invite...
This is where it all started! Matt sat down and designed Quinn's party invitation at the end of February. We knew we wanted a 'shoe' theme {If you know Quinn's Daddy, that TOTALLY makes sense to you!} and quickly came up with the colors. I was so happy with the outcome and couldn't wait to send it out to family and friends. As they started getting them, we started getting LOTS of R.S.V.P.'s ...and most of them were YES! We knew that Q was going to have a great first birthday party!

The day...

After much preparation, shopping with Grammer and Slickpaw, and lots of cleaning and cooking from Nana and Pawpaw, we were ready for the party! The birthday party boy took a good nap while we put the finishing touches on the decor! When he woke up, Bethanie and Matt got him dressed, and the guests started arriving. It was a cloudy day...but nice! We couldn't wait to celebrate with so many of our friends and family!

The decor...

I have been thinking about how I would decorate for Q's first birthday party since he was born. I LOVE planning parties and knew that this would be too much fun. When we went with the shoe theme, I knew that using Q's shoes would be the perfect decoration. So, there were little shoes here, there and everywhere. I also used framed pics of Quinn wearing some of his cutest 'kicks.' ...We had a clothesline with some of my favorite things and clothes pinned pictures from each month of his life on a "Happy Birthday" banner. ...We even found some cool, lime green Chinese lanterns to add to the dining room table! All in all, with the help of Grammer and Nana, I was pleased with the way it turned out!

Jones Soda, Bottled Coke, and Water...

The fun little shoe notepads that Quinn gave as favors!...
The cake...

I could not have been happier with the way Quinn's cake turned out. When I booked Cakes by Allison, I knew that it would be amazing...but amazing was an understatement. The cake was the talk of the party...it was a Converse shoe box with a lime green Converse shoe next to it! It was so realistic...and SO yummy too!

The guests...

Our guest list for Quinn's party was a little out-of-control! But, hey, you only turn one once, right!? The guests, of course, made the party. We were so thankful to have so many of our friends and family there to celebrate this special occasion. ...Here is a list of the 72 people that were in attendance at Quinn's party! ... Mommy, Daddy, and the Birthday Boy; Grammer and Slickpaw; Nana and Pawpaw; Aunt Bethanie and Uncle Derin; Shannon, Jared, Cade and Cruse; Pastor Randy and Nancy; Steve and Kathy Purdum; Brian, Margaret & Russell Webb; Brad and Remy Webb; Janice & Megan Walker; The Sangsters; Jamiann; Faraz; Katrina; The Doty Family; Melissa & Erin; Auntie Sarah and Ryan; Elissa; Jen Williford; The Dryden Family; Seth, Joy, Grace & Judah; Jason & Tiffany; Nick, Michelle and Hailey; James, Amy and Ellie Weibe; Jessica Burk; Brooks & Caitlyn; Amy & Porter; David, Alli and Chapman; Shane, Kara and Tanner; Justin, Summer & Blake, and J.R. & Madison! WOW... I don't know if Quinn will EVER realized just how blessed he is to have so many people that just LOVE him to pieces! It was overwhelmingly wonderful!

Looking outside to see who will get here first...

The gifts...
I feel like we opened gifts FOREVER! Quinn got so many awesome things...clothes, shoes, toys, towels, and more! Once again, I don't know if he'll ever truly realized just how blessed he is! (Look for pics of him playing with his favorite new things to come soon!)

IS THIS NORMAL!??!?!.....
The mess....

Quinn LOVES cake! We discovered that on his birthday when he at the cake for the photo shoot! ... When we placed Q's little smash cake in front of him, he dove right in...and didn't stop! He was such a mess and loved every bite!

We took it away and tried to trick him with bananas...it didn't work! :)

The BIG birthday boy...

So, my sweet little man is officially ONE! He's had his birthday and his party and had a blast through it all! Even though he won't remember all of the festivities, the pictures and video that we have will be priceless one day! Thank you so much to all of you that helped make his first birthday a perfect one!

Happy Birthday Quinn and I'm sorry I missed your big day.
Your auntie Molly has a gift waiting for you...

And, if I have a boy, can I borrow back the camo onsie that I gave you when you were born? hahaha

I feel like I'm reading a recap of a wedding or something... with the play by play, and every meticulous detail.

You really do need to be a party planner. Seriously. It's a gift.
