Absence makes the heart grow fonder...

The times in my life that I have heard this statement, I've always imagined that it referred to your husband or wife. Now I am sure that a mommy was the author of this phrase. This week I started "Back to School" (sort of...does 3 day a week preschool count as back to school?) and I had to leave my baby. Even though he's in the same building...just down the hall and to the right...it broke my heart to say goodbye and to know that someone else would be taking care of him for 5 hours twice a week. ... I realize I'm being a little dramatic...I get to go and nurse him twice during the day AND his sweet teachers bring him to me every now and then to say "hi!"... AND I run into him in the hallways when he's in the "baby mover!" ... but still...it's not quite the same as being at home with him.

In spite of my whining, I have thanked God 1,000 times this week for the opportunity I have to still be with him. I am so blessed to have gotten a job that pays well, has hours of 9-2 and allows me to feed and love on my baby whenever I need to! I can't imagine being at "big kid school" right now ... I just don't think I could have done it!

All of this to say...the little bit of time I have been away from Quinn has made me fall in love with him even more. When we're walking to the car after school and I'm holding him as close to me as I can, I get teary eyed as I tell him how much I love him and how I missed him. What a special little man he is to me!!!
