BLOGGING!!! Oh how I've missed you!
The Perfect Dedication of ThePoeFam’s Swimming Pool…
This past Sunday, October 28th…after being in our house for a mere 2 weeks and 1 day…we invited the youth group and families to our house for a cookout. We should have known that we would have an amazing turn out (almost 100 people!!!), because there was so much more than food involved. Two of our students had made the recent decision to be baptized…and, when talking to Matt about it, they loved the idea of getting baptized in our pool! So, after a chilly morning, the sun came out for the most PERFECT day!
After grilling and eating, we all made our way outside to witness such a beautiful sight. I love that the first time our new pool was used was for Matt to baptize people in the name of Jesus Christ. Matt and the guys were FREEZING, but they survived and gave us all a memory that will never be forgotten.
After that, people hung around for hours…playing in the park across the street, in our backyard and in our cul de sac. We are so grateful that everyone came and were so appreciate for all of the sweet compliments about thePoeFam’s new home! It was a crazy awesome first gathering…and we look forward to countless more!!!
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
and you will be saved.

Since we got the amazing news that “our house” was ours…
We packed…and packed …and packed some more…We smiled as we signed…
We celebrated…
…and took our first family picture in our new home!…
We moved from the rent house that housed our family for the last year…
…and we thanked Jesus for movers…
…we received the MOST thoughtful moving day treat from friends from church…
And, somehow, we got two little boys bathed and in jammies at a decent hour as they spent their first night in our new home sharing a room…
…and as this little one spent his first night in his “big boy bunk bed!”
We partied in our back yard as our new city had a celebration…and, found out that our backyard has the BEST seat in the house. {the boys were convinced that they were welcoming us to the neighborhood with such an impressive fireworks display!}
And, since that day two weeks ago, we have started really making our house our HOME! We are thankful and so excited to share it with our family and friends!
{Stay tuned for lots more about thePoeFam’s second home!}
Pine Cove: Fall 2012
The weekend before we moved, Matt had the awesome opportunity to go back to speak at a Pine Cove retreat. And, thePoeFam had the awesome privilege of getting to tag along. I almost didn’t go…there was so much to do to get us ready to move and so little time to do it. But, the second I stepped out of the Swaggon onto Pine Cove soil, I thank Jesus that I changed my mind. There's something about being there that renews and refreshes me in a way that only Jesus can! I love it so!
The best part…it was chilly!!! And, the boys and I had a blast tagging along to all of the fun stuff. Here they get to be such BOYS…exploring and digging and dancing and running! It’s so fun to watch!
The theme of the weekend was “Alien” and Matt did an amazing job bringing the Word each time he spoke. We are so proud of him and what he does. These crazy aliens provided LOTS of entertainment for my two little crazies!
This little guy was one of our favorite discoveries. He CRACKED us up with his crazy personality and played and played with the boys! We loved him!
And, this little guy was our LEAST favorite Pine Cove discovery. UGHHHHH! He crawled up the drain while Q was watching his hands. I have to admit that I didn’t believe him when he said a scorpion was in the sink! Next time, I won’t second guess! Mercy!!!
The sweetest memory for the 4 of us was getting to go fishing. They provided poles and worms and we had a BLAST! We ended up catching 9 fish…and, the boys thought it was great! I even caught a little guy!!! Gotta love bein’ a boy momma!
And, Quinn’s new “grown up friend” was a hilarious character each day named Hyper Timmy! Q was FOR SURE his biggest fan! Hilarious stuff!
It was an awesome weekend…where time seems to go a little slower and the Spirit seems to speak a little louder! I loved it and so look forward to the next time we get to visit.
